Born 1986 in Mexico City where he grew up and studied a short degree in Photography and a bachelors degree in Biology at Mexico's National Autonomous University (UNAM) from which he graduated in 2010 with a thesis on computer simulated evolution. After realising he was more interested in science as a conceptual space for commentary and creativity rather than research, he enrolled in a Master in Arts program in the Design Interactions department at The Royal College of Art in London, UK. He graduated in June 2012.

Diego's multidisciplinary background has provided him with a broad set of skills and material knowledge which he often uses to present his work. Amongst these skill are computer programming, photography, electronics and object manufacturing. His work often involves experimenting with new technologies and materials; Examples of this include the use of chemical reactions in This Tape Will Self-Destruct, the manufacturing of an organic LED display in his 300 year time bomb and his participation in a synchronous robotics project with architects Testa/Wiser and their students in the Robot House at the Southern California Institute of Architecture.

The work Trujillo Pisanty produces is also characterized by a subversive take on technology and its implications. This is presented as poetic images and objects that embody the greater questions that his projects pose.

Trujillo Pisanty was awarded a Honorary Mention in Hybrid Art in the 2015 Prixs Ars Electronica for his project This Tape Will Self Destruct (2014) funded by a Young Creators fellowship from the Mexican Fund for Culture and Arts (FONCA) . This piece was also broadly covered in the media including publications in We Make Money not Art, Vice, Dazed and Confused and The Metro newspaper. Diego's With Robots (2010) also received the media's attention appearing on BLDG Blog, wired.co.uk and Dezeen amongst others.

In the autumn of 2015 he was awarded a Young Creators fellowship from the Mexican Fund for Cultre and Arts for the second time, this fellowship was used to produce Finding the Operator.
