Memory Maps is an exploration of the relationship between landscape and memory. It is a collection of pictures made from two overlayed satellite images. One of the images holds a landmark that has a meaning or an emotional charge to me, the other image is the surrounding landscape that reflects the natural background on which my landmark was built.
The collection of maps is a kind of logbook in which my connection to a place is stored along with the ghost of the landscape that preceded it. The mixing of images intends to express the temporary nature of the landscape and how the changes in scenery will alter the memories and feelings I have for a particular place.
